Why we built NavAstra
An astrology product built on one principle: software calculates, classical rules interpret, and AI only ever explains what is already true.
Most astrology software forces a bad choice: raw charts with no interpretation, or fluent AI text with no reliable calculation underneath. The first is only useful to experts. The second is worse than useless — it sounds right while being ungrounded.
NavAstra (nava, the nine grahas; astra, a celestial instrument) is built by Kashi Labs, and it separates the layers the way they should be separated:
Software calculates
Deterministic, versioned, tested against a golden dataset. The AI cannot touch this layer.
Classical rules interpret
A catalog of cited rules from the standard texts, versioned and reviewable by professional Jyotishis.
AI explains
It reads your calculated factors, cites everything it uses, and is rejected if it invents.
We are equally deliberate about what we do notdo. We do not guarantee predictions. We do not diagnose health conditions. We do not give financial advice. We do not prescribe remedies that require a qualified Jyotishi's personal assessment. The strongest thing an astrology product can offer is honesty about what a chart shows — and what it doesn't.
